Here is a pictorial summary of RV travels during April and May 2003. We spent quite several weeks at the Monaco Service Center in Harrisburg, OR, a few miles north of Eugene. While we were waiting for the coach to be serviced, we took several side trips to see the sights in Oregon.
We spent one night at the Sylvia Beach Hotel in Newport, OR, where each room was decorated around a noted author. We also visited the wonderful Oregon Coast Aquarium and Sea Lion Caves, the largest US sea cave, full of hundreds of noisy sea lions. From the Sea Cave, you get a beautiful view of the Heceta Head Lighthouse; it's the most photographed lighthouse on the Oregon coast.

the beautiful Oregon coast:
In addition to sightseeing, we attended an Elderhostel at Wildlife Safari in Winston, OR, visited Dee's cousin Nick in Portland, OR, and with him we drove up Mt. Hood in a snowstorm and had dinner at the massive Timberline Lodge.
In Washington, we visited Dee's
cousin Bill and his family in Ranier, WA. We drove up Mt. Ranier in
another snowstorm.
We got better views of Mt. Ranier
from
the Port Townsend on the Olympic Peninsula. We visited Tom's
cousin Janet and her family
in
Port Orchard, WA. We drove around the entire peninsula, enjoying our
first sunshine in months, more snow, the quaint town of Port Townsend
and
we hiked to the furthest west point of Washington
and
in beautiful rain forests.
We
also saw the world's largest spruce tree (which has lost its top). Tom

Our primary sightseeing in Montana
was in Glacier National Park. .jpg)
In Absarokee, Montana, we visited Tom's
cousin Richard, his wife and mother. Tom
and Richard enjoyed fly fishing in the river right behind the house while
we ladies kept
to inside
activities, as it was again snowing, sleeting and cold! This was in
early May; time to go back to SC to some warmth and sunshine, so that's what
we did.
