left our three children and their families behind.
(left to right, Dave and wife Lisa, Julie, Laura and husband Eric), but we will swing through their home states from time to time.
September 16, 2000: Wedding
of Tom's brother Pat to Peggy O'Hare. 
April 22, 2001: Birth of grandchild #1, Lukas William Irwin! He was 7 lb. 14 oz. and 21.5" long. Here he is at one hour old!

20, 2003: Birth
of grandchild #3: Tucker Leonard Irwin, Lisa and Dave's 2nd son. He was 8
lb. 5 oz, 22" long. Here he is, looking like a dark-haired version
of brother Lukas!.

May 11-18, 2001: Orlando,
FL, to celebrate our 40th wedding anniversary with family (Peggy,
Pat, Julie, Dee, Tom, Laura, Eric) at Disney World.
May 19-21: Tampa while the RV gets some warranty work. Visited the Florida Aquarium in downtown Tampa, Ted Williams Museum and Hitters Hall of Fame, Homosassa Springs Wildlife State Park (manatees, alligators, panthers, and lots of birds). Had a great dinner in the Greek town of Tarpon Springs, the "sponge capital of the world."
May 22-29: Drove from Tampa to Baton Rouge,
LA, to visit Tom's cousin Richard and wife Carol. Then went
to Memphis to see nephew Ryan Irwin 
graduate
from high school. Visited Graceland, of course. Tom cut his eye on one of the
storage unit's door the day we left Memphis, so there was a slight delay
while we went to the hospital for stitches. 
June 17 - 20: Nova Scotia with Laura and Eric and Eric's parents, Linda and Carl Smith.
June 21 - 26: Drove to Montreal. Dee flew to Raleigh, NC, for grandson's baptism on June 24. Toured Montreal.
June 27 until mid-September: Canada and Alaska

Our kids got together at Lisa and Dave's: 
Laura and Eric have announced that they are expecting a baby girl in December!
December 17, 2001
Two wonderful events
occurred on this day.
Event 1: Daughter Julie (blonde in picture above) got the announcement that she has received tenure at the University of Texas in Austin and has been promoted to Associate Professor of Marketing.
Event 2: Daughter Laura and son-in-law Erc became parents of our grandchild #2, Sarah Lucille Smith.
She weighed 6 lbs. 12 oz. and was 19" long.

Lukas' First Birthday Party (April 27, 2002) -- Family Picture:
February 2, 2004: Grandchild number 4 arrives.
Stephen Lawson Smith is born to Laura and Eric. He weighed 8 lbs 11 oz. and was 21.5" long. He is blond like his Daddy. Click for Stephen Photo Album and scroll down.
September 22, 2005: Grandchild number 5 arrives.
Casey Sophia Irwin is born to Julie. She weighed 6 lbs. 15 oz. She is blond and blue-eyed like her mother. Click for Casey Photo Album.
