California: September 2009

Tom and I co-led a Monacos in Motion caravan of 9 RV's in northern California.  Monacos in Motion is a club of Monaco motorhomers in which the members lead caravans.  Ours was titled Wines, Mines and More: An Educational and Gastronomical Tour of Northern California.  We started out at Truckee, CA, near Lake Tahoe where we spent 6 days.  Next stop was Sacramento for 5 days followed by Napa for 6 more days.  The itinerary is below.

5 PM:   Car pool to Bacchus & Venus for Wine 101 and tasting.

Fri., Sept. 11

9 AM: Talk on Lake Tahoe area by Chelsea Walterscheid, Truckee Historical Society and Truckee Museum
10 AM: Walking tour of Truckee, including historic Truckee Hotel
12:30 PM: Lunch in Truckee
2:00 PM: Donner Memorial Park
5-7 PM: Moody's Bistro Dinner (1st gourmet dinners)
